Rates Calm Ahead of Federal Holiday

The market was rather calm Oct. 9 ahead of a 3-day weekend. Bond markets are closed for Columbus/IP Day while stocks are open.

Most lenders are priced rather conservatively.

Rates are starting to show some signs of settling, and the outlook for the next few weeks is that they will likely remain consistent.

Unless something major changes, the pundits believe we shouldn’t see rates move significantly higher nor lower.

We will see the market react to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation data next Wednesday, but that will be the last major event before the Fed meeting at the end of the month.
