1. Role Summary
As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you are the primary engine of our growth. This role is designed for professionals who want the “Freedom of Movement” to run their business like an entrepreneur while backed by an experienced processing team.
What Success Looks Like: Success in this position is defined by your ability to leverage our extensive wholesale channel to provide tailored solutions for diverse borrower profiles. This role is built for someone who thrives when given total autonomy and a massive toolkit of loan products.
2. Responsibilities
- Analyze Financial Profiles: Evaluate the creditworthiness and financial backgrounds of prospective borrowers to determine the best-suited loan products, ensuring all recommendations align with current regulatory requirements.
- Navigate Wholesale Channels: Utilize our expansive network of wholesale lenders to price and lock loans, identifying the most competitive rates and terms available in the market for each specific scenario.
- Consultative Sales: Educate borrowers on a wide array of specialized programs, such as ITIN, FHA, VA, and DSCR loans, helping them understand the long-term financial impact of their mortgage choices.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all loan applications are complete and accurate, adhering to federal and state regulations (RESPA, TILA, etc.) to maintain the integrity of the brokerage’s licensing and reputation.
- Business Development: Develop and maintain a professional network of referral partners to ensure a consistent flow of high-quality leads.
3. Qualifications
- Licensing: Active NMLS registration is required (Florida-specific licensure preferred).
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in mortgage loan origination within a brokerage environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with (Loan Origination Systems to manage digital files and automate workflows.
- Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of standard agency products (FHA, VA, Conventional) as well as non-QM and niche products like ITIN or DSCR.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in an accessible manner.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong mathematical and analytical skills used to calculate debt-to-income ratios and evaluate asset verification documents.

The Mortgage Loan Processor is the central coordinator of our production team. In this role, you bridge the gap between the Loan Originator, the borrower, and our expansive network of wholesale underwriters.

2. Responsibilities
- Comprehensive File Audit: Execute a detailed initial review of all loan application packages, verifying that income, assets, and credit documentation meet the specific nuances of our various wholesale lender guidelines.
- Active Pipeline Navigation: Proactively manage a diverse queue of files, utilizing professional judgment to prioritize tasks and ensure all rate locks and closing deadlines are strictly met.
- Wholesale Underwriting Liaison: Serve as the primary technical contact for wholesale underwriting teams, facilitating the clearing of conditions and resolving complex file hurdles.
- Clear Borrower Communication: Provide transparent and professional updates to borrowers, ensuring they understand the documentation process and feel supported throughout the transaction.
- Third-Party Integration: Coordinate the procurement and review of essential services—including appraisals, title commitments, and insurance—ensuring all data points are consistent across the digital file.
- Regulatory Compliance Management: Maintain rigorous adherence to federal and state regulations, ensuring every file is processed with total integrity and transparency.
3. Qualifications
- Proven Experience: At least 3+ years of mortgage processing experience, with a preference for those who have worked in a multi-lender brokerage environment.
- Technical Agility: Proficiency in modern Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to maintain an organized, paperless environment.
- Diverse Product Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of FHA, VA, and Conventional guidelines, with an interest in mastering specialized programs like DSCR, ITIN, and “No Tax Return” loans.
- Strategic Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to advocate for the borrower while maintaining professional relationships with underwriting partners.
- Mathematical Precision: Strong analytical and mathematical skills used to verify complex income calculations and asset documentation.
